TTK CONFECTIONARY - THE TREAT KITCHEN

Background

How do you ensure your products stay on trend?

At Treat Kitchen we work with a wide variety of retailers and cater for a large customer demographic. We look at other products in the market to see where we can make improvements and sometimes, we work to a brief created by the customer. While many of our products have the nostalgia of being ‘childhood favourites’ we also focus on trending flavours, prints, patterns and silhouettes in the world of fashion and lifestyle ensuring that our products sit well as part of a wider gifting range. We have an in house design team with backgrounds in fashion and illustration allowing us to inject creativity and remain current and on trend.

What is your bestselling/award winning product?

We have a wide product range but our best selling AYR product is our signature glass message bottle. Our trade customers love the adaptability of this product. We can change the fill and the messaging to suit their requirements. They can then offer their end customer a sustainable product that can be recycled or up-cycled as something new. Our best selling seasonal product are our gingerbread kits. These fun and tasty kits offer a family friendly Christmas gift ready to build and decorate. They come in a variety of designs including house, train and Santa’s sleigh.

What changes have you made to support your decarbonisation plans?

Our ‘plant a tree for every purchase’ initiative has seen more than 26,000 trees planted all over the world in the last year, and we have supported 16 projects globally to help reduce the amount of atmospheric CO2 levels. Our partnership with Ecologi has also helped massively with our decarbonisation plans – with this, we have been able to offset 355 tonnes of CO2e. ‘We just wrote an article on this for the Nottingham BID here is the link which should provide you with some nice details on our sustainability activities;

The Solution

You’re a business member at the Food & Drink Forum, how has this helped you and your business?

The Food & Drink Forum has supported us from the very start of our company and continues to be a key source of support and assistance. From guiding us through our SALSA audit preparation to training our team on labeling and ingredients, having that expert support has been invaluable. We also enjoy being part of a food and drink community and have worked with several other F&D forum members to create products and share expertise. We have had team members who have benefited from being part of a peer to peer network cohort and we have had expert advice and support from the Forum’s technical advisors whilst setting up our production facility.
