The Accelerator Project

The Food and Drink Forum is partnering with the East Midlands Chamber to deliver the Accelerator Project across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Leicester.  
The Project supports businesses to help them start, sustain, grow, and innovate. The project could provide the support you need to help your food or drink business thrive.

The project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and East Midlands Chamber.

Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

Business Advisor Support

Our advisors will support businesses refine their plans for growth, include developing new products that will lead to job creation or the use of technology to improve performance. We will go through a business diagnostics process with you, the output of which will be a Business Action Plan.

Training

Action Planning training workshops are available to all Food and Drink producers enabling you to develop competence in food and drink production areas and legislation.  Visit our Accelerator Workshops web page find out more about what is on offer.

Fully funded specialist consultancy support

Fully funded by a the Growth Voucher scheme, specialist consultancy support is available from the Food and Drink Forum and other subject area specialists. Access to additional finance to cover capital and revenue grants may be available and our advisors will direct you to the correct provider and support you in making this happen.

Tailored sector-based support

Available for selected areas for high street businesses such as hospitality.

New Product Development and Innovation Support

Through a New Product Development (NPD) and Innovation Voucher we can offer Food and Drink Manufacturers the opportunity to spend two days in our test kitchens with our NPD and Innovation Manager. This opportunity will provide you with specialist support to develop a new product or improve an existing product. 

Network for Collaboration

Helping you grow your networks, collaborate and learn from fellow businesses through projects such as the national Help to Grow: Management scheme, East Midlands Manufacturing Network and other dedicated business forums.

Tailored Pre-start and Start Up Business Support

Working in collaboration with broad business skills support providers, we can provide a comprehensive support package that helps ensure your business success. Vitally important, this includes ensuring you have a safe, stable, scalable and commercially viable product to put in front of customers.

Reducing your carbon footprint is becoming increasingly important to food and drink businesses. Reducing the environmental impact of your products can often help reduce operating costs in the long term as well as being a positive selling point for customers.
