SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval Scheme) is a robust and effective food safety certification scheme which is appropriate for smaller food producers and processors. Approved suppliers can demonstrate that they operate to standards that are recognised and accepted across the industry, and exceed the minimum standards expected by enforcement authorities. Legal Label Checks
Are your food and drink product labels in-line with the 2014 Food Information Regulations? Do you know if the claims you are making on your labels are accurate and legal? Are you correctly declaring ingredients and allergens? The Technical Team can provide advice and support to ensure your labels are compliant, including for products being exported (including USA labelling).
Using industry-recognised software, The Technical Team will analyse your product recipes and will provide you with a full nutritional analysis. From these results; legal product claims can be established, as well as front of pack traffic light information (includes products being exported to USA).
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is a systematic approach to food safety; considering and risk assessing biological, chemical and physical allergen hazards in your production processes and Food Safety Management System.
It is a legal requirement for food and drink manufacturers in the UK to have a HACCP system in place. The Technical Team can help you to identify the hazards within your production process, set critical limits and will assist with the development of your HACCP manual and systems, and can ensure the formats that customers and enforcements offices would expect to see.
BRCGS Certification Global Standard
BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standard) is the UK GSFI Standard for Food Safety and is a requirement to supply many large customers (including for exporting). The Technical Team can help you to implement the quality systems within your business in order to achieve BRC certification including; Food Safety, Storage and Distribution, Packaging, Agents and Brokers. These is no 'one-size-fits-all' for successful implementation and maintenance of these standards and so a bespoke plan will be developed based on your business needs.
