The Food & Drink Forum will be holding a number of free events for Leicestershire food and drink businesses across the course of the Collaborate project. Upcoming events include:

 

Understanding UK Products

Date: Tuesday 27th February 2018

Time: 10AM – 12PM

Venue: The Management Hub, Leicester Food Park, High View Close, Leicester, LE4 9LJ

Cost: Free of charge to Leicester and Leicestershire food and drink businesses

Leicestershire food and drink businesses are invited to attend The Food & Drink Forum’s Understanding UK Products event, which will look at the benefits and requirements of working with supermarkets. The event is being held on Tuesday 27th February 2018 at Leicester Food Park, and is free for businesses to attend.

This two hour workshop is essential for any businesses to work with or is already working with supermarkets and will cover:

  • Why work with supermarkets?
  • Own brand or supermarket brand?
  • Legal ‘shelf ready’ product and certification requirements
  • Dealing with supermarket buyers
  • The retail environment and shelf space
  • Technical requirements
  • NPD process

Principles of Preservation and Shelf Life

Date: Thursday 15th March 2018

Time: 9AM – 11AM

Venue: The Management Hub, Leicester Food Park, High View Close, Leicester, LE4 9LJ

Leicestershire food and drink businesses are invited to attend The Food & Drink Forum’s Principles of Preservation and Shelf Life event, which will look at the principles of preservation and shelf life determination/improvement. The event is being held on Thursday 15th March at Leicester Food Park and is free for businesses to attend.

This two hour workshop is essential for any businesses looking for more information on:

  • Food preservation methods
  • Types of preservatives
  • Aspects of microbiological shelf life assessment
  • Pathogens consideration depending on the type of product
