Graduate Employment Programme

The Food and Drink Forum has teamed up with HotProspects, the East Midlands based Graduate Recruitment Service, to run a two-year project aimed at boosting skills in the food and drink sector. The project is currently offering subsidised or grant-funded recruitment, so if you’re considering hiring a graduate, even for just a short-term project, now might be a good time to look into the graduate pool available at HotProspects.

Food Entrepreneur
Running in Leicestershire and Lincolnshire, the Food Entrepreneur programme offers free help and advice to new and existing food and drink businesses.

Integration Skills
A project for Lincolnshire food and drink businesses, the scheme aims to boost training and skills development, and helps create or safeguard jobs. Firms may be eligible for grants of up to £5,000 for capital purchases under the project.

Train to Gain
Food & Drink Forum is one of only 39 organisations in the East Midlands that have a contract to provide training under the Learning and Skills Council’s Train to Gain service. The service helps firms access the correct skills advice.

Fit to Supply
Ensuring that food and drink firms are ready to meet the conditions retailers set from their suppliers is the aim of The Food & Drink Forum’s Fit to Supply programme.

East Midlands Fine Foods
East Midlands Fine Foods provides sales and marketing support to specialist food and drink firms in the region. It is one of a number of food groups which exist to support and help build the regional food and drink sector in the UK.

Public Sector Food Procurement Initiative
Public Sector Food Procurement Initiative aims to boost the amount of business between suppliers and producers in the region and the public sector organisations like schools, universities, hospitals and councils.

Southglade Food Park
Southglade Food Park is a pioneering business park in Nottingham dedicated to the food and drink sector – offering a range of different-sized business units to suit firms at all stages of development. The Food & Drink Forum manages the on-site Business Centre that gives specialist support to firms both on and off the park, as well as providing a new product development kitchen, meeting rooms and other business facilities for hire.

Resource Efficiency
The Food & Drink Forum has teamed up with Food Processing Faraday to help firms save money by cutting the costs of waste disposal, and of energy and water bills. 

Championing Innovation between Engineering and Food Sectors
The CHIEFS project - Championing Innovation in the Engineering and Food Sectors – aims to bring food producers and engineers together to help put the East Midlands food and drink sector at the cutting edge of new technology.
